UFCjunkie.com Announces Sponsorship of UFC Fighter Sean Salmon for Nationally Televised Main Event
Cincinnati, OH (PRWeb) January 25, 2007 -- UFCjunkie.com, the premier Web site for UFC-related news, is proud to announce the sponsorship of Ultimate Fighting Championship fighter Sean Salmon (9-1 MMA, 0-0 UFC), who will face light heavyweight Rashad Evans (9-0 MMA, 4-0 UFC) on live television during Spike TV's UFC Fight Night 8 event on Jan. 25, 2007.
As part of the sponsorship, Salmon will wear UFCjunkie.com-branded fight gear during his main-event bout. Additionally, UFCjunkie.com will publish exclusive interviews and training updates in the weeks and days leading up to fight, which will be seen on national television by millions of fight fans around the world.
Salmon, a former Ohio State University wrestler and coach, was ranked as high as 10th in the nation in the 167-pound division during his collegiate wrestling career. The former high school state wrestling champion and All-American has also been an active competitor on the Ohio International Wrestling Club freestyle circuit and was an Olympic Trials qualifier. Since his transition into mixed-martial arts, he's posted a 9-1 record, which included six first-round stoppages. The UFC recently signed him to a three-fight contract.

Salmon's opponent sports an undefeated record in the UFC and was the heavyweight winner of the second season of The Ultimate Fighter, the UFC's reality series that airs on Spike TV. Evans has since dropped to the light-heavyweight division and is widely regarded as a top contender at 205 pounds.
UFC Fight Night 8 airs on Spike TV from 8 to 10 p.m. on Jan. 25, 2007.
